Nick Sirianni recruited Zach Pascal with a text message that simply had the eyes emoji

During his introductory press conference today, Zach Pascal touched on a variety of topics, including how he was recruited to sign with the Philadelphia Eagles.
According to Pascal, the moment free agency started, Sirianni texted him just the eyes emoji, to which Pascal texted back, “come get me.”
On Monday, the Eagles signed the former Colts wideout to a one-year deal worth a little over $1 million.
Sirianni worked with Pascal in Indianapolis so it shouldn’t come as a surprise he would try to recruit him after he hit the free agent market. That being said, it’s also no surprise that Pascal said that Sirianni was the main reason he chose the Eagles.
I still can’t get over the eyes emoji text. It makes the brief text exchange look like a cheesy romance movie, topped off with Pascal saying “come get me.”
If that’s what it takes to recruit players in 2022 then I’m all for it.

Pascal should be a great depth piece for the Eagles, finally providing the veteran wide receiver presence that the Eagles desperately need. Howie Roseman tried to acquire Calvin Ridley and Robert Woods but struck out on both before landing Pascal.
Still, there’s work to be done in the wide receiver room and the Eagles are keeping their options open. Yesterday, Sirianni and other Eagles were in attendance to watch Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson during Ohio State’s Pro Day. With three first-round selections, it wouldn’t be surprising if Roseman selected a wide receiver in the first for the third season in a row.
