Chris Olave talks potentially teaming up with DeVonta Smith in Philadelphia

The Philadelphia Eagles had a large presence at Ohio State’s Pro Day yesterday afternoon. Nick Sirianni and company were on hand to watch wideouts Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson while also getting a glimpse at 2023 draft prospect C.J. Stroud.
When talking to the media afterward, Olave was asked about teaming up with DeVonta Smith, and he seemed ecstatic about the potential duo.
“Man, that’d be huge. Him winning the Heisman, I could learn a lot from him. We’re the same age. I feel like we’d be a great tandem. We’ll see how it shakes.”
In his latest mock draft, Mel Kiper mocked Olave to Philadelphia, having the Eagles take him with their 16th overall selection. During his 2021 season, Olave recorded 936 yards and 13 touchdowns for the Buckeyes and has had three straight 700+ yard seasons.

Drafting Olave over Wilson seems like the most realistic possibility. Some project Wilson to go within the top ten of the draft, and it’s doubtful the Eagles will trade up for a WR two seasons in a row.
However, after striking out in the trade market, it does seem more and more likely that Howie Roseman could look towards the draft to improve the Eagles’ wideouts.
