Tyronn Lue complains about Embiid and Hardens fouls shots like the NBA Twitter nerds

James Harden and Joel Embiid are constantly going to the foul line. In return, NBA Twitter loves to complain about the high volume of free throws the 76ers attempt a game like a bunch of cry babies.
Of course, that’s the most ridiculous argument ever. If you watch Sixers games, you can clearly see Harden and Embiid getting fouled constantly. It’s literally the only way you can stop either of them from scoring.
What you typically don’t see is NBA coaches using the same dumb argument when talking about Embiid and Harden. Before the 76ers and Clippers game tonight, Tyronn Lue spoke with the media and commented on the free throw attempts between Harden and Embiid.
Tyronn Lue on Embiid and Harden
“Embiid is #1 in the league in free throws and James Harden is #3. You take away their free throws and neither guy would be top-10 in scoring.”
Wow coach, great insight here. You really dug deep into your pockets to find this incredible insight into the foul shooting of Embiid and Harden.
What a joke. How about you comment on how teams foul Embiid and Harden relentlessly. What do you want them to do exactly? They aren’t calling the fouls. It’s completely out of their control.
On top of that, if Embiid and Harden didn’t hit their foul shots, would anyone even comment on it?
The answer is no.
I literally don’t know what people want to see while watching the 76ers. I encourage defenses to just not foul Harden and Embiid and allow them to shoot the basketball.
If you think the only way they can score points is by getting to the charity stripe, then by all means, let them just shoot jump shots, dunk the basketball, and drive into the lane for a few layups.
I’m sure that will be a better option than fouling them, right?
Boooo. Clippers stink. Ty Lue stinks. The Sixers are up by a million points right now and there’s still 5 minutes left in the game.
Kick rocks, LA. I want the Sixers shooting nothing but free throws. We want more!
