Miami vs Kansas
- Miami Spread +6 | +220 ML
- Kansas Spread -6 | -275 ML
- Total: O/U 147.5
Kansas is the last surviving one seed in the 2022 March Madness tournament and has become the favorite to win it all as we roll into the last set Elite 8 games on our way to the Final Four. First, they will have to get past Kameron McGusty and an offense-minded Miami Hurricanes team.
Miami is red hot and has one of the most efficient offenses left in the tournament. They don’t play much defense though, which should allow Kansas to continue to take quality shots on offense. Kansas will post you up, knock down threes, and really just bury teams from all over the court.
In an offensive game, I like Miami covering +6.5. They are 8-2 ATS as an underdog this season so we might as well ride them one last time.
Pick: Miami +6.5
St. Peter’s vs North Carolina
- St. Peters Spread +8 | +285 ML
- UNC Spread -8 | -360 ML
- Total: O/U 137
The St. Peter’s Peacocks are the first team in NCAA March Madness history to reach the Elite 8 as a 15-seed and I think everyone is rooting for them today to upset North Carolina in South Philadelphia. In what will essentially be a home game for the Peacocks, it’s hard to turn a blind eye to what they have accomplished this tournament.
St. Peter’s has beaten Kentucky (85-79), Murray St. (70-60), and Purdue (67-64) and have done so with a little bit of luck on their side. Opponents against the Peacocks seemingly forget how to shoot three pointers, combining for only 17-of-60 (28%) from beyond the arc.
St. Peter’s relies heavily on their catch-and-shoot offense and very efficient defense. The Peacocks story to March Madness is pretty wild. They were 12-11 on February 20th after a loss to Siena, 84-71. From there, they literally just stopped losing basketball games and are 10-0 since.
Today they have to face two of the most dangerous offensive scorers in the country, with the Heels front court consisting of Brady Manek and Armando Bacot. You would have to think the game plan for UNC is to get the ball into the paint and control the pace of this game against St. Peter’s. Regardless, there’s no chance in hell I’m not riding the St. Peter’s Peacocks, even if it’s not the logical bet here. Let’s get crazy.
Picks: St. Peter’s +285 ML | Spread +8 | Over 137
