Eagles Rumors: Brian Baldinger hints at potential first-round draft target

Brian Baldinger appeared on NFL Now this week and responded to several questions about the Eagles.
One of those was about the Eagle’s draft approach. He immediately mentioned that he could see the Eagles trading one of the three first-round picks they have this year for a future first-round pick next year in case they want to target a quarterback.
It remains to be seen who the Eagles are targeting in this year’s draft. Many believe the team’s biggest needs are — in no particular order — edge rusher, linebacker, cornerback, and wide receiver. This brings us to who Baldy mentioned as a potential target:
Derek Stingley Jr. would be a steal if he fell to any one of the Eagles’ picks. Even with the Lisfranc injury, Stingley projects to be a top 20 pick in this draft. He was widely considered as a top 5 selection prior to the injury. The Eagles clearly have a need at the outside corner spot. Besides Darius Slay, who turned 31 in January, they don’t have anyone else you would feel confident in.
Stingley comes in at 6’0″, 195 pounds, similar to Slay’s build. With Johnathan Gannon coming back as the defensive coordinator, I’d imagine he would love the idea of Stingley learning behind Slay. Especially in his zone-heavy defense.
