The only 2022 Grammy Awards prediction that matters: Who’s getting slapped?

Tonight, the biggest stars in music will be in Las Vegas for the Grammy Awards. I struggle with the fact that people continue to watch award shows, but after the Oscars where Will Smith slapped the shit out of Chris Rock, maybe there’s a newfound energy among the Hollywood elite to provide us with more entertainment. So of course, the big question on everybody’s mind is who will be slapped tonight?
Following the Academy Awards, Chris Rock had a sold out comedy show, and every celebrity in the world was able to find themselves an interview to share their opinion about it. Hell, even this website hit big on back-to-back days talking about whether or not the slap was actually real. Basically, drama is good for business. We all know that.
So who’s it going to be?
Well, Grammy officials are certainly concerned about one attendee in particular. Of course, that would be none other than Kanye (Ye) West.
Kanye West is currently banned from performing at this year’s Grammy Awards.
Kanye is still expected to be in attendance because he’s nominated for Album of the Year for Donda. The Grammy Awards just don’t want him performing because they’re worried he might react unpredictably. When will these self-righteous losers learn that you want people to act crazy on live television? Ratings go through the roof.
Anyways, I guess when you make a single music video depicting you murdering your ex-wife’s new boyfriend, people all of the sudden consider you a wild card. Oh well.

To make the entire awards show even more slappable, Trevor Noah is going to be hosting the Grammy Awards this year. I could go on for hours about how big of a loser Trevor Noah is but if you want a single example, just a few weeks ago he gave his audience a long winded lecture on The Daily Show about how we all had to take the messy divorce seriously.
Keep in mind, The Daily Show is supposed to be funny, which it hasn’t been since the early days of Jon Stewart. Now, we just get lectured about how sad domestic disputes are and told that we’re terrible for rubbernecking.
I’m definitely not telling Kim, Kanye, or Pete Davidson to put their personal issues online but what the hell does Trevor Noah expect me to do? Write a sternly worded letter? Give mea break dude.
Kanye West responded to Trevor Noah’s monologue with a racial slur that got him suspended from Instagram.
Where does this leave us as The Grammy Awards approach?
We all just witnessed Will Smith meltdown and slap Chris Rock over a personal grievance. The reaction on social media was a mix of childish glee and overwrought hand wringing.
I still can’t help but feel that Trevor Noah is going to be standing on that stage wearing a big red sign that says “Slap Me” begging for a ratings boost and a chance to use Comedy Central yet again as a platform for whatever issue he wants to be taken seriously about.
You can’t bet on who’s getting slapped but you definitely can bet on the NBA and the College Basketball National Championship. Sign up for a new account on BetMGM and place a $10 money line wager on any NBA or CBB game and win a FREE $200 if either team hits a 3-pointer.

It’s free money. Don’t be an idiot.
Grammy Awards Violence Disclaimer
The Liberty Line does not condone violence. We certainly don’t want to see the future owner of the Denver Broncos slap the host of The Daily Show but we’d be foolish if we didn’t point out that the environment feels ripe for an outburst.
(Editors Note: I definitely want to see Kanye West slap the shit out of Trevor Noah – Drew)
Kanye West has a history of acting out at awards shows. He’s already feeling humiliated by the circumstances of his divorce and now he just got dethroned as the king of award show outbursts by Will Smith.
The stage is set. The guy hosting the show is someone he has a beef with. All of the elements of a classic Kanye meltdown are there. Unless he gets wheeled into the Grammy Awards like Hannibal Lector, you would have to think that Kanye, a showman, has something planned for tonight’s event.
