Bobby Brink will make his debut alongside Morgan Frost, Flyers at Capitals preview

The Philadelphia Flyers arrived in Washington D.C to take on the Capitals tonight at 7PM. The game will be broadcasted on ESPN and Bobby Brink is set to make his NHL debut off of a NCAA championship. Carter Hart will start in goal for Philadelphia.

The Flyers’ projected lineup:

  • Farabee-Hayes-Atkinson
  • Konecny-Laughton-Tippett
  • JvR-Frost-Brink
  • Cates-Thompson-Brown
  • Provorov-York
  • Sanheim-Ristolainen
  • Connauton-Attard
  • Hart

The storyline is quite clear for this one, it’s Bobby Brink time. Brink is fresh off of his NCAA championship run after leading the entire nation in scoring, and he now plays alongside Morgan Frost. I’m going to be locked in whenever that line comes out on the ice.

Frost picked up an assist last game off of the opening puck drop and looks to build on his recent stretch of confident play. It seems like the speed of the NHL is finally clicking with him, his decisions are quick, decisive, and more efficient than I’ve seen in the past.

The Washington Capitals come into this game as the 8th seeded team in the Eastern Conference. For what they boast in offensive firepower, they lack in defensive structure and goaltending. Give the Capitals enough power plays and you lose; it’s always been that simple.

With that being said they have won their last three games with some being against the top teams in the NHL. Washington is shaping up their game and their lineup for playoff hockey as they hit the home stretch here in April.

Carter Hart will be in net and the Flyers always play Washington well, so I’m expecting a fun watch this time out. Let’s see if Bobby Brink can get on the board in his National Hockey League debut. Other than that, I expect the Flyers to get absolutely wrecked tonight, like they have done all season long.
