Cringeworthy: NFL Films, Peyton Manning dressed like Santa throwing snowballs at Eagles fans in Philly today

NFL Films was in Philadelphia today with Peyton Manning, shooting a new segment which featured Manning and others dressed up as Santa Claus on a fire truck, throwing “snowballs” at “random” fans wearing Eagles jerseys.

According to our friends at Crossing Broad and their sources, the footage will be used on an episode of Peyton’s Places, a documentary series that airs on on ESPN+ which revisits seminal moments in NFL history. Other episodes include NFL Records, Thanksgiving Games, The Lombardi Trophy, Da Bears, Monday Night Football, History of Fantasy Football, and more.

How does throwing snowballs at Santa fit into these shows? Your guess is as good as mine.
NFL Films is headquartered in New Jersey so the fact that anyone inside that office building thought this would be a good idea is pretty disappointing. You would have hoped that they were going to bury the never ending “throwing snow balls at Santa” narrative but unfortunately that doesn’t seem to be the case.
Instead, they are driving around fire trucks on the first 80 degree weather day in Philadelphia with igloo coolers filled with snow balls throwing them at staged fans in Eagles jerseys. I’m sure the entire segment will be an absolute hit everywhere outside the tri-state area who can’t get enough of the Santa-snowball story but here in Philadelphia, that’s simply cringeworthy.
