Eagles Rumors: Tyrann Mathieu clapped back at me, what does it mean?

If you haven’t seen it by now, free agent safety Tyrann Mathieu didn’t seem to like one of my tweets today.
Earlier this morning, I put out a tweet saying that Notre Dame safety Kyle Hamilton plays a factor in why the Eagles have yet to sign Mathieu:
Kyle Hamilton is a major reason why talks have seemingly stalled between free agent Tyrann Mathieu and the Eagles.

Philly believes Hamilton could fall, and they’d prefer to address safety in the draft before committing big money at the position.
The 3x All-Pro discovered the tweet within the hour and replied with the following before quickly deleting it:

The next thing I know, this tweet is the No. 1 post on Eagles Reddit and making the rounds on social media.
So what does this all mean? Well, from my perspective, it could mean one of three things:
1. The Eagles are still in ongoing talks with the Honey Badger
Perhaps Mathieu’s response indicated that talks hadn’t stalled at all and the two sides remain in contact. Howie Roseman always sets a value on players and won’t overpay. Based on how free agency has gone for Philadelphia, I’m willing to believe that Mathieu received an underwhelming offer and money is the primary hurdle.
If that’s the case, an “Lol yeah ok” response would certainly be warranted.
2. Mathieu felt slighted at being compared to a rookie
Maybe Mathieu didn’t take too kindly to the notion that Kyle Hamilton could make the same impact as him on the field. Hamilton is undoubtedly a top player in this class, but a player of Mathieu’s pedigree would provide veteran leadership and playmaking ability on defense.
Multiple reports have stated that Mathieu could wait until after the draft to choose his next team, and whoever drafts Hamilton in two weeks would likely be out of the running.
3. My information is wrong and I know nothing
The people I have conversations with have been around the league for much longer than I have, and I’m confident in the information I gather. The people that have been following my work over the years know that I do my own research and never claim to have sources, consider myself as the “media,” etc.
With the recent rumblings of Kyle Hamilton potentially falling out of the top 10, the Eagles — as well as 31 other teams — are monitoring to see where exactly he falls. Does this play a part in the ongoing talks with Mathieu? I’m inclined to believe so. Or I could be entirely wrong for the reasons mentioned above.
Two things are for certain. One, Mathieu is a tremendous player and I’d very much like to see him in Philadelphia. Two, nothing any of us tweets will ever influence players’ decisions and what they do in free agency.
Alas, I’m fully prepared for Eagles Twitter to run me out of town if Mathieu signs elsewhere.
