Rockies fan is asked what Philadelphia’s nickname is on the big screen, fails miserably

During last night’s Phillies game, a Rockies fan was asked one simple question…what is the city of Philadelphia nicknamed? Here were his three options.

What is the city of Philadelphia nicknamed?

  1. The City of Brotherly Love
  2. The City of Fountains
  3. The Liberty City

The Rockies fan picked C. He went with “The Liberty City” as the nickname for Philadelphia.

The first thing I thought of when I heard the third option was Grand Theft Auto. Liberty City was in GTA for many years, being featured as a remake of New York City.

Apparently, the “City of Fountains” is in Kansas City, Missouri. I had absolutely no clue that was even a thing, but apparently, there are more than 200 fountains in Kansas City.

Look, I’m not sure if this was a jab at the city of Philadelphia because the Phillies were in town and the entire thing was a setup like the fake kiss cam videos that circulate across the internet, tricking viewers into believing that some girl is kissing a guy two seats down while her boyfriend is grabbing them food, but honestly, it’s a pretty bad look for this fan regardless.

America is a dying country. Gen Z is a hopeless and lost generation if they can’t select a nickname for the city of Philadelphia, the birthplace of America, the city of fucking independence, the reason why Colorado even exists, on a list of three options that includes “The City of Fountains” as one option.

On the other hand, Denver is a lost city stuck in Mountain Time that believes Nikola Jokic is the best basketball player in the world so really what should we expect from these types of people?

It’s a school night buddy, maybe you should be home reading a history book rather than watching a miserable Rockies team beat up on an even more miserable Phillies team.

Speaking of the Sixers, Happy Game Day…Buy a shirt.
