Stephen A. Smith: Ben Simmons is the weakest most pathetic excuse for a professional athlete the world has ever seen

Ben Simmons is getting dragged by everyone these days and I absolutely love it.
Yesterday, Ben Simmons was officially ruled out of Game 4 tonight between the Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Nets. That should have came as no surprise to anyone, but apparently there are still people out there who thought that Simmons was actually going to play basketball again.
Please keep them in your prayers because now, the national media and pretty much everyone is completely turning on Ben Simmons, including the Brooklyn Nets organization.
Simmons is the laughing stock of the NBA and no one is holding back at taking jabs. Stephen A. Smith destroyed Simmons on ESPN’s First Take this morning, calling Benjamin the “weakest most pathetic excuse for a professional athlete we have ever seen in not just American history, but the history of the sport.”
Stephen A. Smith on Ben Simmons
Ouch.
According to reports, the Nets organization is growing increasingly frustrated with Simmons, while Nets head coach Steve Nash said he didn’t think Ben Simmons was going to play in Game 4 regardless of the reports.
Everyone who blamed Philadelphia, the fans, and hell, even Joel Embiid should be ashamed of themselves. That’s what we like to call lazy journalism, folks. Anyone in the city of Philadelphia knew the truth while the entire world chose to blame us instead of looking at the person causing all of the problems to begin with.
Will we ever get an apology? Nope. Of course not. We don’t need one though. Joel Embiid is playing with a torn ligament in his thumb while he and the 76ers are looking to close out the first round of the 2022 NBA Playoffs with a gentleman’s sweep against the Raptors tonight.
The Nets will look to avoid being swept by the Boston Celtics at 7PM tonight.
What will Simmons wear tonight?
It’s honestly puzzling how the Nets organization and his teammates let him show up to games like this:
You mean to tell me no one has told this dude he looks like a total asshole? Doesn’t look like it and if you take a step back, that’s really been the issue with Ben Simmons from the start. The irony.
Ben Simmons has to be pissed. For a guy that loves his image more than anything, getting ridiculed every time he goes out in public for his dumb outfits while professional athletes, media members, and NBA fans completely roast him 24/7 must be tough for him.
Oh well.
