After the game, Embiid provided more insight on why he was clapping for the refs, saying that he wanted to congratulate them for doing such a great job officiating in Game 4.
“Like I was doing at the end of the game, they did a great job,” Embiid said to reporters in Toronto. “I admire the job that they did today. To me, it felt like they had one job coming in here tonight, and they got it done. So, congrats to them.”
Joel Embiid has now been fined $15,000 by the NBA for publicly criticizing the officiating crew.
Pocket change, baby.
