Josh Harris amongst top suitors to purchase Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos are expected to ramp up bids to purchase the franchise next week, and amongst the interested groups is Philadelphia 76ers owner Josh Harris.

Alongside Harris, other interested parties include Rob Walton and potentially Kanye West and Antonio Brown. This is far from the first professional sports team Harris has been interested in acquiring, owning the NHL’s New Jersey Devils and bidding on soccer giant Chelsea F.C.

Currently, the Broncos are valued at over $3.7 billion, roughly near the same amount that Chelsea has been expected to be worth. It’s unclear if Denver is a backup plan for Harris or if the 76ers’ owner is double-dipping in sports franchises.

The Pat Bowlen Trust announced the sale of the Broncos in early February, and it seems like the NFL is trying to speed up the process. According to Rapoport, the belief is a deal will be finalized before the start of the 2022 season in September.
