Joel Embiid is Back: First look at the masked ‘Phantom of the Process’

Nobody cared who Joel Embiid was until he put on the mask. Well, considering he was an MVP finalist and NBA scoring champion, that may not be entirely true. Regardless, after missing the first [two] games of the series with a concussion and right orbital fracture, the superstar is set to make his return to face the Heat masked up yet again.
Here’s Joel “The Phantom of The Process” Embiid in the new mask:
Coming out like it’s all business. I love to see it.
Of course, we’ve seen Embiid with this look before. He made playoff debut in 2018 donning one after Markelle Fultz dropped the shoulder and broke his face (which is the only memorable play of his Sixers career). Coincidentally, that game was against the
Embiid dropped 23 in his first appearance as the The Phantom of The Process on the road. He even hit a dagger three and shushed the crowd for an instant classic clip.
The Sixers didn’t lose a game once Embiid returned to that series, taking it 4-1. Fans across Philadelphia are praying they can
Granted, the Sixers have a deeper hole to get out of this time around – down 2-0 to a higher seed – but with the MVP making his return, anything is possible.
Thank god we have Joel Embiid.
