Reddit user leaks Jordan Davis’ contract with the Philadelphia Eagles

Earlier this week, a Reddit user somehow managed to get ahold of the contracts for numerous first-round picks in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Among the leaked documents was Eagles’ rookie Jordan Davis’ contract that he signed a few days ago.

Davis’ contract wasn’t filled out and looked similar to most of the deals, but it’s fascinating to read something that is never seen by the general public.

For those that have lives and don’t want to read 20 pages of fine print, here are some of the more interesting details from the contract.

Davis is only being paid a little over $700,000 as his base salary for his rookie season but gets $10 million upfront from the Eagles as a signing bonus. However, half of that signing bonus is going directly to Davis’ agency instead of himself.

This maneuver isn’t shocking, as most agencies will fund top players’ workouts and other things ahead of time during the draft process, with the reimbursement worked into the rookie’s contract.

The agents also take a percentage of the contract as well for brokering the deal, so that’s likely included in the sum as well. Also included are the clauses that would cause him to be fined. However, all of that is standard and part of almost every contract in the NFL.
