Former Eagles coach Chip Kelly tried to trade Brandon Graham until Jeffrey Lurie stopped him

It’s hard to imagine the Chip Kelly era being any worse than it actually was for the Eagles. According to LeSean McCoy, it certainly could have been.

During the most recent episode of the “25/10 Show” with Shady and DeSean Jackson, the former Eagles duo spent an hour shitting on Chip Kelly. They both said a lot of stuff that we already knew about Chip, but there were a few tidbits that revealed things we had no idea about. Chief among them being a Brandon Graham trade that Kelly tried to pull off, before owner Jeffrey Lurie stepped in and nixed it.

At the time, trading Graham wouldn’t have felt as disastrous as the Shady trade or the release of DeSean Jackson. But in hindsight, yeah, it would have been the worst move Kelly made by a wide margin.

Just two years after Kelly’s departure, the Eagles won their first Super Bowl, thanks in large part to BG. The strip sack of Tom Brady in Super Bowl 52 will go down as one of the best plays in franchise history. And that son of a bitch Chip Kelly almost stole it from us without anyone knowing.

I’m very happy Lurie had the balls to step in and stop this from happening.
