David Dodge clears up viral Game 4 sleeping incident on KYW Newsradio
Local car dealer and internet sensation David Kelleher appeared on KYW Newsradio to break down his now-viral moment sleeping court-side at Game 4 between the Sixers and the heat. Was he drunk? Did he go to the Phillies doubleheader before the game? Or, as Kenny Smith asked on the TNT broadcast, is he narcoleptic?
Well, David Dodge laid out his explanation for us:
“I just took a cat nap.”
Honestly, I respect it. I personally hoped David Dodge would lean into it and say he was absolutely hammered like Charles Barkley predicted. But, instead, being the family man he is, he let us know that wasn’t the case.
Plus, it’s good to hear most of the response has been positive. Full disclosure, my dad and I really hated the “I’ve always been your dealer” advertisements. But after this viral incident? I might go buy a car from David Dodge this weekend.
This was peak dad behavior. As he said, he overate at Mother’s Day brunch, and we all know what a holiday meal does to a dad. Combine that with a late night and waking up for his daughter’s early morning game, and it’s lights out for anyone, even the legendary David Dodge. I don’t care how loud it is in there.
I mean, just look at this absolute specimen of human movement:
If David Dodge is selling stock, then I’ll take a million shares. I know he rings the bell in his commercials, but when the series comes back to Philly for Game 6, I need him to lead us into battle with three strong strikes of the bell.
We love our car dealers here in the Philadelphia area, and David Dodge has found himself skyrocketing towards the top of a very crowded list.
