Preview: Phillies look to stay hot at the plate tonight in Game 2 vs the Seattle Mariners

The Phillies look to stay hot at the plate tonight, as they take on the Seattle Mariners in game two of a three-game set at 9:40 EST.
The Fightin’s got back in the win column last night in a dominating effort out in the Emerald City. The Phillies lineup combined for 17 total hits, including three from Bryce Harper, Nick Castellanos, and Rhys Hoskins. They got homers from Jean Segura and Hoskins early, and never looked back.
Tonight will be a good one. Robbie Ray is coming off a fantastic season that was capped off with a Cy Young, and Aaron Nola has finally started to look like old Nola again. It’s a big night for Philadelphia, as the Sixers look to win their third game in a row, as they take on the Miami Heat down in South Beach in Game 5.
A few of the guys here at The Liberty Line made a business decision and made the trip down to Miami. If the Sixers win? It’s because of them. If the Sixers lose? We blame it on them. I don’t make the rules.
Let’s win some money tonight, shall we?
FOX Bet Odds Boosts
- 4x Your Money: Aaron Nola and Robbie Ray 7 Ks Each +300
- Bryce Harper 2 Hits and Phillies Win +550
- Rhys Hoskins and Eugenio Suarez 1+ RBI Each +900
Tonight’s pitching matchup is a good one. Aaron Nola has found his touch again on the mound, and Robbie Ray is the 2021 AL Cy-Young winner. I think tonight is a low-scoring game while these two pitchers are on the mound. I also love Bryce Harper tonight and think he has a big night.

Tonight’s Pitching Matchup
Phillies: Aaron Nola is set to get the ball for the Phils tonight. Nola is coming off a dominant start vs the Mets, where he threw seven innings, allowing just one earned run and three hits. The Phillies would lose that game 8-7 in horrible fashion, but that doesn’t take away from what Nola did. His ERA is down to a 3.38 on the year and is tied for 9th in all of baseball with 41 strikeouts on the year. The Phillies haven’t won a game that Nola has pitched this season, but I truly believe that changes tonight.
Mariners: Robbie Ray will take the hill tonight for the Mariners. Although Ray’s 2021 season was a great one, he’s gotten roughed up a bit to start this season. He’s 2-3 in five starts with a 4.38 ERA and has tallied a 1.24 WHIP. In 37 total innings. Ray has allowed 33 hits, 18 earned runs, and 5 HRs while walking 13 and striking out 31.

Tonight will start off as a pitching duel, but the Phillies take it in the end. Give me the Phillies to win 4-1, and the Sixers to win as well (obviously).
