The Philadelphia Eagles 2022 schedule dropped last Friday, opening up the season on the road on September 11th facing the Detroit Lions.
The Eagles home opener will be on prime time, September 19th against the Minnesota Vikings.
After clinching the playoffs in 2021 and adding playmakers on both sides of the ball, the Eagles will make five primetime appearances next season — the most since 2018:
- Week 2 vs. Minnesota Vikings
- Week 6 vs. Dallas Cowboys
- Week 9 vs. Houston Texans
- Week 10 vs. Washington Commanders
- Week 12 vs. Green Bay Packers
The five games are tied for most in the NFL in 2022.
Overall, the Eagles have a pretty favorable strength of schedule, with their current opponent win percentage listed at .464. Fellow NFC East members, the Giants, Eagles, Cowboys, and Commanders round out the bottom of the NFL in terms of strength of schedule.
If I’m looking at the schedule above, the main thing that stands out to me has to be the easy start to the season. The first four opponents had a combined record of 21-46 in 2021. Starting the season in Detroit, a team they beat by 38 points last season is a gift.
From there, they play the Vikings in the home opener, then Carson Wentz and the Commanders followed by Doug Pederson and the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Eagles could realistically start their season 4-0 heading to Arizona on October 9th to face the Cardinals.
