Matisse Thybulle named to All-Defensive Second Team

The first slate of All-NBA teams was revealed last night, and Matisse Thybulle was named to the All-Defensive Second Team.
Thybulle has been named to the second team for two-straight seasons now, recording 1.7 steals and 1.1 blocks in 25 minutes per game. Only Gary Payton II of the Warriors had more steals per 36 minutes, with 2.8.
Although he’s controversial on the offensive side of the floor, he’s has been a consistent anchor of the 76ers’ perimeter defense, helping to lock down the opposing team’s top scorer almost every night.
Alongside Thybulle are Bam Adebayo, Draymond Green, Jrue Holiday, and Robert Williams. The two guards to make the First Team over Tisse were Marcus Smart and Mikal Bridges.
Joel Embiid was snubbed after a great defensive season of his own, recording 1.5 blocks and 1.1 steals per game this season. Last season, he was named to the Second Team alongside Thybulle.
This announcement comes in the midst of trade rumors for Matisse, with the Chicago Bulls showing interest in acquiring him after a rocky post-season.
