Preview: Will the Phillies’ bats wake up on Nola Day?

The Phillies take the field tonight at 6:05 vs the Dodgers, looking to snap out of their massive offensive drought. Aaron Nola will get the ball for the Phillies, going up against Mitch White of the Dodgers.
The Phils can’t hit the ball right now, it’s that simple. They were shutout through eight innings before a pointless JT Realmuto RBI double brought the score to 4-1. They tallied seven hits, but couldn’t knock anybody in when it mattered. They struck out 10 times and didn’t get enough from Ranger Suarez, who allowed three earned runs in just three innings.
Four runs in four games. One run in their last two games. 18 hits in their last two games, counting for just one run. The offense has been embarrassing, and it’s obvious they miss their leader, Bryce Harper. Injuries happen, and with the talent that this team has in the lineup, scoring runs shouldn’t be a problem.
How late is too late? The Phils currently trail the Mets by 7.5 games in the NL East. The Mets just lost Scherzer for another 6-8 weeks at least, and Jacob deGrom won’t be returning til late summer. The Mets pitching staff is falling apart, and they’re practically handing us the division. The question is, can the Phillies play consistent baseball and take it?

- Aaron Nola 7+ Ks AND Phillies Win +275
- Rhys Hoskins or Justin Turner HR +200
- Trae Turner AND Nick Castellanos 2+ Hits Each +750
It feels like a Nola day. Temperatures around the tri-state area are through the roof today, and if there’s one pitcher that loves pitching in the heat, it’s Aaron Nola. I love his Ks today, and I think the Phillies pull out the win.
Final Pick: Aaron Nola 7+ Ks AND Phillies Win +275

Aaron Nola vs Mitch White
Aaron Nola is set to take the hill in the scorching heat today, lining up to make his ninth start of the season. Nola has been solid at home on the year, tallying a 3.09 ERA in 23.1 innings, with a 1-1 record and 28 strikeouts.
Nola will square off against Mitch White of the Dodgers, who has thrown just 9.1 innings this year out of the bullpen. Today will be his first start of the season, and hopefully, for the Dodgers, it will be better than his bullpen arm. He’s tallied a 4.82 ERA on the season, with a 1.18 WHIP and 11 Ks.
The Phillies haven’t won an Aaron Nola start since Opening Day. That changes today.
