Preview: Aaron Nola takes the hill, Phillies look to salvage a series split vs Braves

The Philadelphia Phillies are back in action tonight at 7:20, after dropping two in a row to the Atlanta Braves. Aaron Nola is set to get the ball for the Phils, going up against Kyle Wright.
The Phillies lost another frustrating game last night, as a defensive blunder by Odubel Herrera paved the way for an 8-4 Braves win. The Phillies currently sit at 20-24 on the season and a whopping eight games back of the first-place New York Mets, who are 12 games over .500.
For all that Bryce Harper has done in the month of May, it still hasn’t been enough for this team to spark some energy throughout the clubhouse. Harper is hitting .394/.421/.831 in 17 games, tallying 28 hits, 10 doubles, 7 HRs, and 17 RBIs, all good for an OPS of 1.252. It truly is a repeat of last year, with Zack Wheeler and Bryce Harper leading the way for mediocrity.
Phillies are 9-13 in May.

Bryce Harper may be the hottest hitter in baseball right now, and I don’t see that stopping anytime soon. Kyle Wright has been shaky in his three career starts against the Phils, and Bryce Harper won’t make things easier for him today.

Tonight’s Pitching Matchup
Phillies: Aaron Nola will make his 10th start of the season tonight vs Atlanta, looking to collect his first team win on the mound since Opening Day. Nola is 0-3 with a 4.18 ERA on the road this year, with 27 total strikeouts. He leads the team in strikeouts with 64 total, in 52.1 innings pitched.
Braves: Kyle Wright will get the ball for the Braves tonight. Wright has been great at home this year, holding a 3-1 record with a 2.40 ERA and 38 strikeouts. He’s thrown 30 total innings at home, allowing just 19 hits and 8 earned runs.

Phillies Starting Lineup
Prediction
I will never pick against the Phillies, but it’s pretty hard not to right now. Aaron Nola is going to have a day, and Bryce Harper is going to lead the way on the offensive side of the ball. Phillies win 7-2.
