Mike Trout surprises ‘Hurricane’ Schwartz to wish him happy retirement on NBC10

MLB star and South Jersey native Mike Trout congratulated Glenn ‘Hurricane’ Schwartz on his career as NBC10’s legendary meteorologist. The Hurricane has been letting us know the biggest stories concerning the weather for 27 years and has a reputation even Howard Eskin couldn’t find an issue with.
Even though he’s a weatherman first, he’s a deranged sports nut like every other Philadelphian. So, look at Trout totally surprising him to wish him a happy retirement.
I’ve been outspoken about calling Mike Trout a loser and a fraud (which he is), but this is a sweet gesture from one Philly-area GOAT to another. Sure, he took $420 million to lose for the rest of his career instead of teaming with Bryce Harper in his hometown – which is entirely unforgivable – but it’s still an incredibly heartwarming moment.
Having grown up watching The Hurricane, it’s extraordinary to see him get love from the best baseball player alive. Of course, there’s “game recognize game,” but this takes it to a whole new level.
When you watch the clip, you can see how much it means to him. That’s the beauty of live TV, folks.
I mean, the look on Hurricane Schwartz’s face when he realizes that it’s Mike Trout? Priceless.

Pair that with a literal yelp of surprise, and you have one of the most wholesome moments of 2022. Congratulations once again to the Hurricane. Wishing him all the best in the coming years, and hopefully, the Phillies will give him some decent baseball to watch.
