Game 2 Preview: Zach Eflin will pitch tonight as the Phillies look to bounce back vs the New York Mets

Zach Eflin will finally take the mound tonight, going up against Taijuan Walker of the New York Mets.
The Phils came up short last night, after a six-run 6th inning powered by a Garrett Stubbs three-run homer. The Mets put up seven runs in the first four innings, as Bailey Falter had a rough start back in the majors. Falter allowed four hits, two earned runs and struck out just two in three innings of work last night.
Nick Nelson got roughed up after Falter, but Andrew Ballatti, Jeurys Familia, and Brad Hand kept the Phillies in the game. The offense had chances in each of the 7th, 8th, and 9th, but couldn’t push any more runs across the board.
It’s Memorial Day Weekend, which means it’s time for the Phillies to win a ballgame. If you’re reading this, I hope you have a beer in hand, on the beach, with Scott Franze blaring through the speakers.

- Kyle Schwarber or Francisco Lindor HR +200
- Zach Eflin and Taijuan Walker 5+ Ks Each +400
- Nick Castellanos 2+ Hits and Phillies Win +450
I don’t hate any of these bets, but my favorite one is the last. Nick Castellanos has been slumping, but he had a solid night at the plate last night with two hits, a run scored, and an RBI. I think he continues that into tonight and has himself a two-hit night.
Zach Eflin vs Taijuan Walker
Zach Eflin will take the hill for the Phillies tonight, after being pushed back a day for Bailey Falter. Eflin is 1-3 on the year with a 3.65 ERA, totaling 35 hits and 35 strikeouts in 37 innings. Eflin has been rough on the road, tallying a 7.07 ERA in three starts.
Taijuan Walker will get the ball for the Mets, making his seventh start of the season, and his fourth against the Phillies. He’s totaled 11 innings against Philly, allowing 11 hits and 6 earned runs. He’s tallied a 2.70 ERA on the season with 18 strikeouts and a 1.17 WHIP.
