The Philadelphia Phillies were one of 18 clubs to send a scout to watch free-agent reliever Trevor Rosenthal’s showcase in Florida yesterday.
According to reports, Dave Dombrowski declined to comment any further on Rosenthal in terms of if the Phillies were interested in signing him, or they were just doing their due diligence.
Anytime there’s bullpen help, the Phillies should definitely be interested. When healthy, the 32-year old Rosenthal has the potential to be a top closer in Major League Baseball.

Back in 2014 and 2015, Rosenthal saved 45 and 48 games for the St. Louis Cardinals but has been plagued by injuries ever since. He underwent Tommy John surgery in 2017 and missed all of last season with thoracic outlet syndrome (shoutout Markelle Fultz).
As for the Phillies, they extended their win-streak to five games last night with a win over the Brewers. Alec Bohm and Matt Vierling both hit solo home runs off Josh Hader in the top of the 9th inning, as the Phillies stormed back late for the win, 3-2.
