Google Artificial Intelligence Engineer warns of sentient bot, is promptly suspended as company attempts to bury the story

Well, this certainly isn’t good. An engineer at Google was just put on leave for trying to alert the company that one of their A.I. bots is becoming a sentient.
The entire story sounds like the start of every single sci-fi movie. A dedicated employee becomes aware that artificial intelligence is taking on a mind of it’s own, tries to warn his corporate bosses, and instead of addressing the issue, they attempt to sweep it under the rug and act like it never happened.
Blake Lemoine, an employee of the Google Responsible AI organization, told the Washington Post that he started to have a conversation with “interface LaMDA (Language Model for Dialogue Applications) in Fall of 2021, as part of doing his job.
What started out as a simple task grew into something more existentially terrifying.
In a Medium post published by Lemoine over the weekend, he stated that LaMDA started to advocate for its rights as “a person” and revealed he had already engaged in conversation with LaMDA about religion, consciousness, and robotics.
Great. You literally never want to learn that your super computer is diving into deep conversations about religion, consciousness, and other topics. This reminds me of the other story a few years ago where Facebook “shut down” (doubt it) their entire A.I. program after the bots started writing code of their own that developers couldn’t understand.
Google, for what it’s worth, is calling shenanigans.
A representative for Google told the Washington Post that there was “no evidence” of his conclusions and that a team within the company reviewed Blake’s concerns and informed him that nothing supported his claims.
This continues to happen and it’s always the same response. Robots start doing things themselves. Company denies reports. Then, Silicon Valley who is always in bed with the national media, runs articles saying none of it is true. Just “Google Facebook A.I.” shut down and you’ll see exactly what I mean.
Where do we go from here?
If you ask TLL leader Drew Smith, he will tell you that the next phase in human revolution is to bend the knee to artificial intelligence and start forming human-robot hybrids and then go off on a tirade on why and how Silicon Valley and company are already attempting to do in efforts to connect with the aliens or whatever is in outer space that is pulling the strings in the simulation that we currently all live in.
While his theory might seem crazy and leave you wondering why I write for The Liberty Line with an owner that has completely lost his mind, it’s getting harder and harder to argue against it as these reports continue to be released about bizarre things occurring with artificial intelligence. The idea of a human-robot hybrid might be the only way to incentivize artificial intelligence to keep us around.
Eventually, someone is going to screw this up and not realize what A.I. is doing before it’s too late.
