Pretzel Pizza

Josie’s Soft Pretzel Pizza is a delight to the senses

Good God, they’ve done it. Josie’s in South Philly is now serving a Soft Pretzel Pizza, and yes, it’s exactly what you think it is. Some see it as a heretical food item, and others claim it as a delicacy. Decide for yourself.

Behold the glorious Soft Pretzel Pizza:

Regardless of what you think at a glance, there’s only one thing you can do to pass just a verdict. Eat it.

So, to put my money where my mouth is, I went down and tried it myself. And let me tell you, it was pretty damn good.*

Sure, it was a breadier experience than your average pizza, but this isn’t a pizza. The soft pretzel comes first in this scenario. The sauce and cheese exist to enhance the pretzel, not the other way around.

The sauce itself was a bit sweet, but it was offset nicely by the salt on the pretzel. It was certainly an odd combination at first, but the Pretzel Pizza delivered across the board.

Remember, this creation is not for those with impulse control issues. I very nearly came close to gorging myself on Pretzel Pizzas. The last half of my final pretzel was the closest I’ve gotten to the ethereal plane, and I’m a better man for it.

So don’t wait. Get down to Josie’s before they’re gone. I doubt you’ll find a better option anywhere else; just look at this Pretzel Pizza google search, and you’ll get it.

Pizza Pretzel
Yuck.

*For legal reasons, that, and everything that followed, was a lie. I was chained to a desk in Drew’s basement typing away on the computer between rounds of being hosed down and shown my monthly clicks. Even so, I’m excited to try this, and you should be too.

Very real and legitimate journalist. I don't see a loss on the schedule.
