Phillies Activate INF Johan Camargo from 10-day IL

The Phillies have reinstated INF Johan Camargo from the 10-day IL, after he missed a little over two weeks with a knee sprain.
Camargo has had a nice start to his season as the do it all utility-man for the Phillies. Through 144 plate appearances, Camargo has slashed .246/.310/.338 with 3 HR and 15 RBI while playing defensively at every infield position other than catcher.
Camargo recently finished a 3 game rehab assignment at AAA-Lehigh Valley where he batted .167 (2 for 12), with 3 RBI’s including this bases clearing 3 RBI double against Buffalo.
Although Camargo has graded out below average the plate with an 86 OPS+, he has still produced 0.3 WAR for the Phillies who have been ravaged by injuries to their infield in recent weeks. Jean Segura was placed on the 60-day IL, after an inside fastball broke his finger in late May and will be out of the lineup until at least September.
Nick Maton has been out of action since he was placed on the 10-day IL on June 5th and is still working on healing a shoulder injury sustained while making an acrobatic catch at second base. With both of their second base options out for an extended period, the Phillies have had to resort to using outfielder Matt Vierling.
With Didi Gregorius and Camargo back in the everyday lineup the Phillies gain roster flexibility and seemingly will no longer need to keep fringe roster players around like Yairo Muñoz.
