Flyers Player Drops Stanley Cup

Former Flyers player drops the Stanley Cup, immediately goes viral on the internet

The Colorado Avalanche took home the 2022 Stanley Cup title after defeating the Tampa Bay Lightning 2-1 in Game 6.

Of course, while Flyers fans suffer in eternal hell, an ex-Flyer Nicholas Aube-Kubel hoisted Lord Stanley’s trophy after the Avalanche took down the Lightning.

NAK was a 2014 second-round pick and spend over 100 games with the Flyers since 2018-19. He was waived by the Flyers back in November and was immediately picked up by the Avalanche, tallying 11 goals and 11 assists (career highs) in Colorado.

Let’s roll the tape on what happened after the Avs won the cup. NAK totally fumbled Lord Stanley’s cup and fell onto the ice, giving it a dent in the process.

If you’re looking to see how bad NAK screwed this up, check out this picture. The sacred cup of Lord Stanley was pretty damaged after the fall.

At the very least, Flyers fans can be happy that NAK stayed true to the orange and back by completely screwing something up. Work will have to be done to get the cup “parade ready” but until then, congrats to the Avs, I guess.
