Kevin Durant wants out of Brooklyn, likely linked to cringeworthy Ben Simmons IG post

NBA Free Agency has officially been put on hold thanks to bombshell tweets from Woj and Shams stating that Kevin Durant has spoken with the Brooklyn Nets and has formally requested a trade.
Kevin Durant Requests Trade
According to Woj, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving had zero contact with the Nets organization after Irving opted into his deal on Monday. So apparently, it was inevitable that Durant would be asking for a trade. From there, KD apparently told Nets’ owner Joe Tsai today that he wanted out of Brooklyn.
Tweets are being sent by the SECOND, but it looks like Phoenix and Miami are among the top two teams that Kevin Durant has on his wish list.
Regardless of who’s available and unavailable, KD is going at a very steep price. He still has four years remaining on his contract. So any team making an offer will have to unload a ridiculous amount of assets to land Durant.
Sadly for KD, the Nets are highly unlikely to make a deal with the Heat due to the limited assets they can offer for him. This leaves the door open for other teams with more capital, including the Sixers, to make a move for the superstar.
But what went wrong in Brooklyn? Sure, Durant couldn’t have been happy with Kyrie Irving’s antics, but he opted into his deal on Monday. It’s Thursday now. What changed?
Well, I think it’s pretty safe to say that Durant’s two psychopath teammates in Ben Simmons and Kyrie Irving certainly didn’t help the situation in Brooklyn. I’m willing to say that Ben Simmons on Instagram today is the straw that broke the Durantula’s back. Here’s what Simmons threw up this Instagram story hardly an hour before Durant’s trade request was announced.
Yeah. Makes sense now. Between that and Kyrie Irving talking like a crazy person after he chose to opt-in last Monday, KD had to get out of there as quickly as possible.
Kevin Durant to Philly?
Obviously, after we broke the Philadelphia 76ers’ exact plans heading into free agency this morning, KD wanting out changes everything. The Sixers should list everyone as expendable outside of Joel Embiid to bring Durant to Philadelphia. Yes, that includes Tyrese Maxey. Sorry Sixers Twitter. We have a championship to win.
