76ers Summer League Game One Paul Reed

Summer 76ers fall to the Memphis Grizzlies in game one 103-99

The Philadelphia 76ers kicked off summer league play in Salt Lake City, Utah last night, losing game one 103-99. I’m not one to take too much stock in summer league play. I’ve been hurt before thanks to Ben Simmons and Markelle Fultz, but here’s a few quick notes on the first game.

Paul Reed led the 76ers summer league team with 20 points, 15 rebounds, and 4 steals.

The Summer Sixers fell behind 17 points early and nearly came back to win the game but in the end, the Memphis Grizzlies took home the win.

Jaden Springer took home the defensive play of the game, taking the ball right out of the hands of a driving Xavier Tillman.

Charlie Brown Jr. and Jaden Springer each scored 15 points, with Brown also notching seven rebounds and two steals.

Second in scoring for the 76ers behind Paul Reed was Isaiah Joe, who scored 19 points to go along with three assists, two rebounds, and one block. Joe only shot 4-for-12 from three point range but the volume is there and he found zero issues creating space for an open look, so let’s hope we see more fall as summer league continues.

Grant Roller scored 12 points on 6-of-10 shooting from the floor.

Up Next for the Summer 76ers

The Sixers are back in action tonight against the Utah Jazz at 9PM.

unfiltered, opinionated, and certainly do not care if you like it or not.
