Danuel House Jr will wear No. 25 in Philadelphia, sparking concerns of a Ben Simmons curse
The Philadelphia 76ers officially announced the free agent signings of both PJ Tucker and Danuel House Jr earlier this evening.
Danuel House Jr took to Instagram and shared a photo of his new locker in Philadelphia and his jersey. He will be wearing No. 25 with the 76ers this season.
That number definitely brings up bad vibes in Philadelphia. There’s really two ways you can look at it. Either House is going to be the “Anti-Ben Simmons”, which all things considered, he should be, or he is making a terrible mistake before stepping foot on the court with his new team this season.
I honestly wouldn’t even consider this to be an issue if it wasn’t for Nick Castellanos purchasing Ben Simmons’ old house (no pun intended) and then having one of the worst seasons of his career with the Phillies. Now, everything I see related to Ben Simmons brings up bad memories and dare I say a curse upon the city of Philadelphia and our professional athletes.
Danuel House Jr is the Anti-Ben Simmons
Given House’s history, I’m going to say that he will finally rid the city of the remains Ben Simmons left behind. House shot 41.5% from three point range over 25 regular season games as a member of the Utah Jazz last season. He’s a high-energy wing defender and a fantastic role player.
Most notably for me, is the fact that House got kicked out of the bubble for bringing one of the female COVID testers back to his hotel room.
He’s a dawg and an absolute legend. Period.
PJ Tucker Officially Introduced
On the PJ Tucker front, he dropped an epic quote in the 76ers press release making his signing official.
“This team is good enough to compete head-to-head with anybody in the league, and I’m going to come in here and do whatever I can to help get us to that next level. Philly fans demand greatness and it will be up to us to get to where we need to be.”
Not much else to say about PJ Tucker. He’s a veteran and an absolute DAWG on the basketball court so we’ll just leave it at that.
