Phillies OF Kyle Schwarber set to participate in the 2022 HR Derby

Phillies OF Kyle Schwarber has officially accepted his invitation to participate in the 2022 HR Derby.
Kyle Schwarber announced it himself on Instagram and was later confirmed by the Philadelphia Phillies.
This will be Schwarber’s second career Home Run Derby appearance. In 2019, he went up against a few names you might be familiar with in Rhys Hoskins and Bryce Harper. Schwarber battled with Harper in the finals, but Harper would eventually take home the crown.

Kyle Schwarber is on an absolute tear this season and is making a case to be a part of the MVP race as the MLB enters the second half of the 2022 season. The Phillies outfielder has crushed 28 homers on the year, good for first in the National League and 2nd in the MLB behind Aaron Judge with 30. Schwarber has tallied 58 RBIs, 61 runs scored, along with a .524 slugging percentage and a 1.7 WAR.
The HR Derby is set to take place on July 18th at 8:00 EST. Some of the featured stars include Juan Soto, Ronald Acuna, back-to-back champion Pete Alonso, and honorary selection, Albert Pujols.
I don’t care what happens in the Home Run Derby. Let’s just hope that Schwarber doesn’t get his swing out-of-wack and for the love of god, beat Pete Alonzo.
