Courier Post delivery man freaks out over 96 year old mother cancelling her newspaper subscription in South Jersey

A bad look for the Courier Post, after a video on Reddit started making its rounds showing one of their delivery drivers ripping up newspapers after realizing that a 96-year-old woman canceled her subscription.
We canceled my 96 yr old mother’s Courier Post subscription because she doesn’t read it anymore and this is the delivery guy’s reaction.Â
Could you imagine waking up at 3 AM and having this dude outside of your house freaking out, only to find out that the reason he’s mad is that you canceled your newspaper subscription?Â
Not to mention, if you’re so worried about newspaper subscriptions then what are you doing ripping up the paper and throwing it all over the yard?
I don’t care if he makes commission delivering newspapers. He’s working in a dying industry. There are plenty of other places looking for work, there’s really no reason to be freaking out over a single subscription by a 96-year-old woman.Â
Take it easy, man.
Honestly, I would think he’s probably mad at the fact that his route wasn’t properly updated and he’s out there at 3 AM delivering newspapers to people who aren’t paying for them. The frustration is likely directed at the Courier Post rather than the lady. However, you can’t be ripping up the paper in this poor woman’s yard because of it. Take it up with the Courier Post.
Newspapers are dead. I have no idea why anyone would continue to pay for any type of subscription these days. The internet is filled with enough content that regular paper is no longer needed.Â
The only real reason to still get a newspaper delivered to your house is if you have a pet bird and need paper for the bottom of the cage, you need something to help light a fire and/or bonfire, or if you are an arts and crafts dork and want to make a piñata.
