‘It’s Hurts season:’ AJ Brown showers his quarterback with praise following first practice
The vibes are up here in the city of Philadelphia. With all the new faces populating the fields at the NovaCare Complex during training camp, the Eagles fanbase is buzzing with anticipation for the start of the 2022 season.
One of the more popular new faces, wideout AJ Brown, has not shied away from praising his new quarterback since arriving in Philly. They’ve been besties since their college days and their relationship clearly hasn’t missed a beat since both he and Jalen Hurts have entered the NFL.
During Brown’s press conference following the first day of training camp, he was asked about the attire he chose for his camp debut. As expected, Brown supports his quarterback in more ways than one.
When AJ Brown responded to the question, he took no time in officially declaring that it is, in fact, ‘Hurts SZN.’

“I’m big on showing love, man,” Brown said. That mantra should fit in perfectly here in The City of Brotherly Love. “I’m excited for [Hurts],” Brown continued. “He’s working really hard and I’m going to be right beside him.”
Eagles fans have a ton of reasons to be excited for the upcoming season. Brown and Hurts’ relationship is certainly atop that list. Adding a Pro Bowl level receiver to an offense is one thing. When that receiver has a strong bond with his quarterback both on and off the field, that’s when the magic starts to unfold.

We all remember how great the Donovan McNabb to Terrell Owens connection was early on. They were friends. They believed in each other and it showed on Sundays. Hurts and Brown have an opportunity to recreate that chemistry as the new faces of the Eagles’ passing attack. Based on everything we’ve seen and heard from the duo, it doesn’t seem like their relationship will ever deteriorate quite like McNabb and Owens’ did.
