Ryan Clark praised the Eagles all over ESPN yesterday, picks them to win the NFC East

Ryan Clark was all over ESPN yesterday on multiple shows praising the Philadelphia Eagles heading into the 2022 season.
He was at it early too, appearing on ESPN’s morning program “Get Up” around 8:30 EST to hop aboard the Eagles hype train. Like a true Philadelphia supporter, Clark cited that “Fly Eagles Fly” chant AND the city’s anthem, “Dreams and Nightmares” by Philly’s own Meek Mill.
Clark may have spent the majority of his career playing across the state in Pittsburgh, but he sounds like an ex-Eagle supporting his former team in this clip.
Ryan Clark on the Get Up
“[The Eagles] are going to win the NFC East. … I believe in [Jalen Hurts] enough to believe that this team beats the Dallas Cowboys for the NFC East Championship.”
After a whirlwind of an offseason that saw the team add a handful of Pro Bowl level players on both sides of the ball, Clark is far from the only national pundit that’s praising the Eagles right now. He’s just the latest to jump on the bandwagon.
Clark wasn’t finished though. Later that morning, he joined the “First Take” roundtable to again heap praise towards the Eagles.
Ryan Clark on First Take
- Best offensive line in football.
- DeVonta Smith. Dallas Goedert. AJ Brown.
- James Bradberry paired with Darius Slay.
- Jalen Hurts x Miles Sanders running game.
Clark is spot on with his assessment here. From top to bottom, the Eagles’ roster is good-to-elite in every area. Especially offensively, where the team will return nearly every starter from last season along with new additions like AJ Brown and Zach Pascal. With the best offensive line in football, as Clark puts it, the Eagles rushing attack should be just as lethal as it was in 2021 and Hurts should have ample time to find his weapons downfield.
The only real question mark Clark points to with the 2022 Eagles is, of course, Jalen Hurts himself. Most national sports pundits share the same sentiment. Only time will tell with Hurts, but having a loaded roster around him certainly doesn’t hurt his chances to prove doubters wrong.
As Clark points out, NFL teams without elite quarterbacks have made serious noise in the postseason throughout recent history. The Eagles have all the makings of a team that fits that mold. And if Hurts does actually become a top tier signal caller, well, then we might as well schedule the parade down Broad Street now.
