Bryce Harper Thumb Watch: The Pins have been REMOVED, increased rehab and more hitting coming soon

Last week, Bryce Harper met with doctors and hoped to get the pins removed from his broken left thumb. After his appointment, Phillies fans were told that Harper’s thumb wasn’t quite ready to have the pins removed, and he would be reevaluated this week.
Today, we got some fantastic news on the “thumb watch”, with Scott Lauber reporting that the pins have been removed and that Harper’s thumb is fully healed.

Harper will increase his rehab and start a hitting progression “soon” meaning that if all goes according to plan, we will get the reigning NL MVP back with the Phillies later this month.

The Phillies finished the month of July with a record of 15-10. They are now 55-47 on the season, 9.5 games behind the NL East-leading New York Mets and 6.5 games behind the Atlanta Braves in second.
The Phillies currently hold the third and final NL Wild Card spot with a game advantage over the St. Louis Cardinals heading into the month of August.
