Maxey Mania: Could Tyrese Maxey be the quarterback of the future for the Philadelphia Eagles?

I am well aware that “Minshew Mania” is still a thing for Philadelphia Eagles fans, but all things considered, Jalen Hurts is set for a breakout NFL season in 2022.
Hurts is stacked with offensive weapons, with AJ Brown, DeVonta Smith, Dallas Goedert, and Miles Sanders. He should be able to find success as the Eagles QB1 this year and if not, I’m sure the internet will keep him on a short leash, as they typically do with any player that’s in Philadelphia.
If Hurts does fail at quarterback early this season, the Philadelphia Eagles need to consider other options outside of Gardner Minshew to come in behind center.
May I present to you, Tyrese Maxey, rising NBA superstar and future NFL quarterback.
Full Disclosure: Tyrese Maxey is from Dallas, Texas and is a known Cowboys fan. I’m sorry you had to read that, and I’m sure many of you knew that already and blocked at little piece of information from every entering your mind, but it’s true.
There’s no better way to convert someone into an Eagles fan than by giving them a job on the team. Check out Maxey’s arm strength in the video above. He’s out there dropping dimes over and over again. We all know how explosive he can be on the basketball court and I don’t see any issue with him avoiding pressure in the pocket and using his quickness to get out of the pocket and find an open receiver.
Jalen Hurts is listed as 6’1″ and Tyrese Maxey is 6’2″. Maxey just looks shorter on an NBA basketball court standing next to someone like Joel Embiid. The height already there and we can certainly work on bulking him up for the NFL.
Here’s the perfect scenario for Maxey joining the Eagles.
The 76ers should package Maxey in a trade package to Brooklyn to land Kevin Durant. From there, Maxey retires and says that he is going to chase his dream of being an NFL quarterback and then signs with the Philadelphia Eagles to backup, and potentially replace Jalen Hurts if things go sideways this season.
Gardner Minshew was living in a van all offseason. We can’t have him enter a game this year. You really like the “Minshew Mania” rally cry? Say this a few times out loud….
“MAXEY MANIA”
We can even roll with “MAD MAXEY“ like we have on several merch drops here at The Liberty Line.
The possibilities are endless. I’m not saying you have to make up your mind now, but it’s definitely something to think about over the next few weeks until the NFL season begins.
