As you can imagine, Nick Sirianni was displeased with the hit on his quarterback, and Jets coach Robert Saleh wasn’t thrilled with his player’s actions either.
“Egregiously awful by Quincy,” Saleh said. “He knows that. He knows better. Those are the plays Quincy has to get out of his game if he wants to become the linebacker that we all think he can be.”

Hurts was a solid 2-3 steps into the Jets bench before Williams laid him out. Luckily, Hurts popped right up, didn’t so much as motion for a flag, and led his team on a touchdown drive.
Hurts brushed off the hit when speaking to reporters after the game.
“You definitely don’t want to come out here in these games and take hits, let alone a late hit like that. But it happened. I’m not tripping about it. It happens. I’m healthy. I’m fine. I got right back up and played the next play.”
