Bryce Harper treated the Iron Pigs AND the opposing team during his rehab assignment

Bryce Harper is back with the Phillies in the major leagues, but during his rehab assignment last week, the reigning NL MVP made sure that everyone playing for the Lehigh Valley IronPigs was taken care of before heading back to Philadelphia.
Harper treated the entire IronPigs clubhouse to PRIME Steak House in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania on Saturday night. Prior to that, even though Harper wasn’t in the lineup, he bought the whole team, along with the Gwinnett Stripers (Braves AAA team), Mission BBQ before their game that night.
Bryce Harper’s rehab assignment was a quick but successful stint with the Pigs, going 5-8 with two homers and 6 RBIs, including a walk-off in the second of the two games he played. The Iron Pigs won both games that Harper was in the lineup.
Bryce Harper’s Walkoff in Game 2
Bryce Harper is the man of the people. He continues to acknowledge the importance of the Phillies farm system and developing relationships with players on and off the baseball field. Over the weekend, Harper talked with the Phillies’ broadcast after the game and made it crystal clear that the young players in the Phillies organization are the future, while also throwing a little shade at former manager Joe Girardi.
The Phillies finally have a full lineup out on the field with the return of Bryce Harper and Brandon Marsh.
Rob Thomson has thrown a few lineups out since their return, but here’s what seems to be the one that will take us all the way to the playoffs…
- Kyle Schwarber
- Rhys Hoskins
- Alec Bohm
- Bryce Harper
- JT Realmuto
- Nick Castellanos
- Bryson Stott
- Jean Segura
- Brandon Marsh
The Phillies kick off a 3-game set with the Arizona Diamondbacks tonight.
