Report: After clearing waivers, Eagles resign LB Davion Taylor to the practice squad

After clearing waivers, the Eagles are reportedly resigning third-year linebacker Davion Taylor to their practice squad, per NBC Sports Philadelphia’s Dave Zangaro.
During Nick Sirianni’s press conference Thursday morning, the head coach hinted at a possible return for Taylor on the practice squad.
“We still want Davion to be a part of this organization, we’ll see what happens,” Sirianni said. “He’s done some good things and made some good plays for it, and hopefully that’s not the last time we work with him.”
Taylor was waived from the 53-man roster on Thursday to clear room for quarterback Ian Book, whom the team acquired off waivers from the Saints.
Taylor’s return as a practice squad member hasn’t been confirmed by the team just yet. With the recent addition of RB La’Mical Perine to the practice squad, the Eagles will have to cut a PS player to clear room for Taylor.
The top candidate to get released may be LB Christian Elliss, the only linebacker currently on the practice squad. Elliss appeared in one game for the Eagles last season.
