Phillies prospect Griff McGarry promoted to Triple-A Lehigh Valley

Phillies #4 pitching prospect Griff McGarry has been promoted from Double-A Reading to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
A lot of rumors have been flying around over the last few weeks about the Phillies potentially bringing up McGarry as a high-velocity bullpen piece for the playoffs. It’s now basically a lock that McGarry will wear the red pinstripes in the very near future, as he’s skyrocketed through the leagues over the last two months.
The Phillies starters have struggled lately, not being able to go late into games. Their arms are burnt out, Zack Wheeler isn’t back yet, Ranger Suarez has shattered his career-high in innings, and everyone just needs a break…something they won’t get.
Griff McGarry will be used as a long reliever once he is up, after being scratched from his start back on Friday to get work in as a reliever. McGarry holds a 2.20 ERA in 8 Reading games this year and a 3.18 total ERA throughout High-A and Double-A.
Stay the course. Griff McGarry is coming.
