76ers NBA 2K ratings leaked – first impressions
2k ratings for the 76ers’ starting five have leaked, and there are a few surprises. The Liberty Line’s crack research team unearthed an image showing how those players grade out.
76ers NBA 2K Ratings:
There are a few initial takeaways.
First, it is hilarious yet warranted that Tyrese Maxey is more highly rated than Tobias Harris. At the same time, 82 feels low for Harris, mainly because he’s been one of the most consistently solid NBA players.
His reputation as mid clearly precedes him.
The second is that James Harden is an 89 while Paul George is an 88. Again, I’ll defend that rating to the death, but NBA fans across the league have been left scratching their heads that the two aren’t on equal footing at minimum.
As ratings continue to release, we see how the 76ers stack up against the rest of the league.
Giannis Antetokounmpo is officially the highest ranked player, clocking in at 97. Joel Embiid, a two-time runner-up in the NBA MVP race, is rated a 96.
I am outraged beyond belief by that rating.
Embiid should at least have a rating equal to the top player in the game.
Hell, I’d say the same for Nikola Jokic.
Also in the full ratings below, they have Embiid at an 80 for dunking?
Please. Don’t insult our intelligence.
Even more disrespectful, however, is the top five 3pt shooters in the game.
Take a look at this list and see if you get what I mean.
Granted, my brain is poisoned by homer-ism to near-Bill Simmons levels, so take all of this how you will.
Where the hell is Tyrese Maxey??
The kid shot 42.7% from beyond the arc for the 76ers last season. Klay Thompson hit 38% – albeit during his first season in two years. Sure, Klay earned that spot as a top-five shooter in the NBA but if that means Maxey is 87 or lower, I can’t reconcile that.
As it turns out, Maxey is rated at 85 from beyond the arc. Go figure.
I do like seeing De’Anthony Melton, PJ Tucker, Danuel House Jr, and even Georges Niang above 80 in the three point ratings. Sad day for Furkan Korkmaz, who clocked in at a miserable 72. Maybe they will update his ratings after he fought multiple people after a Georgia-Turkey game over the weekend?
