Series Preview: Get a FREE $350 as the Phillies return to CBP to take on the Miami Marlins

The Phillies return back to Citizens Bank Park after losing 5 of 6 on the west coast, squaring off against the Miami Marlins for a 3-game series tonight at 6:45 EST.

Aaron Nola (9-11, 3.43 ERA) takes the hill for the Fightins, going up against Jesus Luzardo (3-6, 3.44 ERA) of Miami.

It was a tough, frustrating road trip for the Phillies, as they won just one game against the Diamondbacks and got swept by the San Francisco Giants. The Phillies scored just 8 total runs in the San Fran series and allowed 50 total runs in six games.

The team now returns home to Citizens Bank Park and has a perfect chance to continue to fight for a Wild Card spot. Although the Phillies were horrible over the last week, they really didn’t move in the standings, as the Padres got swept by the Dodgers, and the Brewers lost 3 of 4 to the DBacks.

Injuries are starting to pile up for the Phillies, as Ranger Suarez is obviously fatigued, along with Nick Castellanos on the 10-day IL. The good news, however, is that Seranthony Dominguez and Zach Eflin are both going to throw rehab assignments tonight in hopes of getting two bullpen pieces back over the next week.

Although nothing is set in stone, it seems like the Phillies could be getting another fiery bullpen piece added to the roster in the coming days/weeks. Phils #4 prospect Griff McGarry has been elevated to AAA, and all signs are pointing to the team bringing him up as a long reliever, and maybe even a 6th starter for the last few weeks of the season, to spread out starts for our burnt-out arms.
