Lane Johnson Ugly Lions Game

Lane Johnson: That Sh*t Was Ugly

The Philadelphia Eagles secured a win yesterday against the Detroit Lions to start the 2022 NFL season off on the right foot.

The game itself was anything but pretty, but honestly, I don’t know why anyone would have thought it would have been any different.

Following the win, Lane Johnson and the rest of the birds were walking back into the locker room and new cornerback CJ Gardner Johnson was stoked about his “first win as an Eagle” and how “that shit feels great.”

Lane Johnson then chimed in saying “that shit was ugly.”

Lane Johnson: That shit was ugly

Both can be true.

It should feel great to get a win on the road to kick off the new season and yes, Lane Johnson was completely correct saying that the game was ugly.

Look, a win is a win and I really don’t care how it happened, even more so during week one. Eagles starters barely played during the preseason and no one was even tackling during training camp. I’m not really sure what anyone expected entering yesterday’s game on the road but the birds managed to get the job done.

Yesterday’s game wasn’t pretty by any means. The defensive front got absolutely torched and the our offensive line, which is supposed to be one of the best in the NFL, certainly didn’t perform up to expectations.

Then you have DeVonta Smith, who completely ripped my heart out by failing to catch a pass and get a measly 25 receiving yards.

Regardless, If you thought you were going to get a well polished performance yesterday, then maybe lay off the kool aid this week and learn how to manage your expectations heading into Monday Night’s home opener against the Minnesota Vikings.

The Eagles offensive is explosive. Jalen Hurts is still struggling to throw the ball. Hurts needs to get more receivers involved. The offensive line will perform better. The Eagles defense has some work to do, especially up front.

All are true. All should have been expected.

unfiltered, opinionated, and certainly do not care if you like it or not.
