NFC East: Dallas Cowboys legend acknowledges Jalen Hurts and the Eagles

Thanks to nine sacks on Carson Wentz and a breakout performance by DeVonta Smith, the Eagles are 3-0 and look like the team to beat in the NFC.
Jalen Hurts has displayed tangible improvement thus far into the season, garnering “way-too-early” MVP consideration.
In fact, Hurts has been so impressive that even Dallas Cowboys legend Michael Irvin has had no choice but to recognize what’s happening in Philadelphia:
“It’s one thing I see it on the football field, but when you are a great leader, there’s certain things you do that you inject in your team or you give to your people that you feed off of all the time. And I heard something he said and I said “oh my God,” then I saw that damn Batman cape on the sideline and I said “oh my GOD.” That’s a great idea — all Batmans, no Robins.
This saying that I heard Jalen Hurts say, I get chills thinking about it. He said “I said to all my playmakers’ we cannot just feel the temperature in the room, we must be the thermometer.’ Do y’all get how great that is? And then they put that damn cape on every time one of ’em makes a play.
I saw DeVonta Smith jumpin’ up, takin’ balls down like he was the 6’5” Arthur Juan Brown, I said “oh no, this is ugly. What is going on.” Something like that [Jalen Hurts’ quote] on top of them capes, somebody better do something about what I’m seeing, that’s all I’m saying.”
It pains @michaelirvin88 to his soul to have to acknowledge the greatness of a Philadelphia Eagle but The Playmaker can’t deny @JalenHurts physical ability but his leadership:#NFL #FlyEaglesFly pic.twitter.com/39pEljdj56

It clearly pained Irvin to praise his most-hated rival — but you can only ignore greatness for so long.
Jalen Hurts turned in another tremendous outing on Sunday, throwing for 340 yards, 3 TDs, and a 123.5 passer rating. When Hurts had these performances last season, it felt like a flash in the plan. It’s beginning to feel like the standard in 2022.
The Eagles look to remain undefeated as they host former Super Bowl-winning head coach Doug Pederson and the Jacksonville Jaguars this Sunday at 1:00 PM.
