Emmanuel Acho gave one of the worst breakdowns of Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles in the history of television yesterday

Emmanuel Acho embarrassed himself on television yesterday talking about Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles.
Acho, for whatever reason, thought it would be beneficial to break down Jalen Hurts’ record as a starting quarterback in relation to the Eagles’ record in those games. Of course, anyone with half of a brain would realize that this is the dumbest “argument” to make, especially when it comes to football.
Emmanuel Acho on Jalen Hurts
Honestly, I can’t believe someone let that segment air on national television. Acho literally went through and compared Jalen Hurts’ win-loss record based on a Quarterback vs Quarterback comparison, which obviously means absolutely nothing.
I’m not even mad about it, I’m legitimately impressed.
It’s so stupid, I actually deserve credit for even writing about it.
Acho apparently believes that Hurts is responsible for every other position on the football field, including defense. I shouldn’t even have to break this down, but Acho has left me no choice thanks for the 2+ minutes of absolute garbage in the video clip above.
If you want to look at the five games that Hurts faced “Good Quarterbacks” then sure, we’ll entertain this stereotypical “Twitter argument”
- 9/27/21 vs. DAL: 25/39, 326 yds, 2 TD, 2 INT, 35 rush yds | Defense: 34 pts
- 10/3/21 vs. KC: 32/48, 387 yds, 2 TD, 47 rush yds | Defense: 42 pts
- 10/14/21 vs. TB: 12/26, 115 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT, 44 rush yds, 2 TD | Defense: 28 pts
- 11/7/21 vs. LAC: 11/17, 162 yds, 1 TD, 62 rush yds | Defense: 27 pts
- 1/16/22 vs. TB: 23/43, 258 yds, 1 TD, 2 INT, 39 rush yds | Defense: 31 pts
Cool. So that’s five games, 59.5% completion percentage, and 7.21 yards per attempt with nine total touchdowns, five interceptions, and 229 rushing yards.
Man, I feel stupid just having to type this out but again…
Literally NOTHING written above holds any weight or value in any real discussion about Jalen Hurts as a quarterback.
Every single Eagles fan had questions about Jalen Hurts behind center heading into the 2022-23 season. Through the first three weeks, he has exceeded expectations and has shown MAJOR progression as a passer, keeping his eyes down field and throwing the football DEEP.

Overall, the sentiment around the Philadelphia Eagles and Jalen Hurts has been fantastic. The (also useless) Power Rankings after Week 3 prove that. I guess when there’s nothing bad to write about Hurts, someone has to fall on the sword with an all-time dumb take/analysis to say otherwise, right?
