Eagles QB Jalen Hurts takes home the FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week award

Jalen Hurts and his Philadelphia Eagles have gotten off to a hot start this season, notching three wins in as many weeks while putting up impressive numbers on both sides of the ball.
Hurts, individually, has been turning heads all season, with his MVP odds creeping up every week. Following his standout performance against former teammate Carson Wentz and his Washington Commanders in Week 3, Hurts was voted as the FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week.
Two other quarterbacks were nominated for the award this week: Buffalo’s Josh Allen and Cincinnati’s Joe Burrow. Fans around the country vote on the award each week. Hurts, for obvious reasons, was the top vote getter this time around.
Eagles QB1 has been on a tear this season
Hurts has been outstanding all season and his performance in Week 3 may have been his finest outing to date.
The Eagles QB1 went 22-for-35 (62.8 completion percentage) for 340 yards and three touchdowns while posting a passer rating of 123.5. On the season, Hurts has completed 67.3 percent of his passes while totaling 1,083 yards from scrimmage and seven touchdowns.
Hurts currently has the second-highest Pro Football Focus offensive grade of any quarterback in the NFL, sitting at a crisp 79.4. His passing grade of 88.2 is the best in the league.
The Jalen Hurts hype train is just getting started. If the Eagles signal caller continues to play at an elite level throughout the season, the FedEx Air award won’t be the only one he earns in 2022.
