Eagles C Jason Kelce shares insight into the rivalry between Philly and Dallas
Jason Kelce is a man of the people. Those people being Philadelphia Eagles fans, of course.
Kelce chatted with the 94WIP Morning Show earlier this week and gave his input on the differences between Eagles and Cowboys fans.
Jason Kelce on the difference between Eagles and Cowboys fans
“Two polar opposites that have been in the same division that have played so many meaningful games of football together,” Kelce said. “You have the Philadelphia fan base which is this extremely localized die hard fan base that is authentic to all of them growing up together in this community and this environment that breeds authenticity.”
“And you have the Cowboys fan base, which they have that in Dallas, but the majority of the fan base is built on commercialism and all of this pop culture, Lakers, Yankees type fandom that I think is the complete opposite of what the Philadelphia fan base stands for. And also you have the north and the south going into it. You have so many factors and different things that it’s led to being almost a game of cultures and values, that I certainly feel and love to represent on the side I am on.”
I couldn’t agree more with the 12-year, four-time first-team All-Pro Center. Who, by the way, is gearing up to make his 128th consecutive start for the Philadelphia Eagles. This Sunday night at Lincoln Financial Field will be the 21st time he’s played against the Dallas Cowboys.
I’m glad Jason Kelce set the record straight here on Birds fans. Especially after Jason Peter’s idiotic comments on this fanbase this week. According to the former Eagle, we pride ourselves on being “nasty.”
