Kyle Schwarber nominated as a finalist for the 2022 Hank Aaron Award

Phillies OF Kyle Schwarber has been nominated as a finalist for the 2022 Hank Aaron Award.
The Hank Aaron Award was founded in 1999, the 25th anniversary of Hank Aaron breaking the home-run record that was previously held by Babe Ruth. Each year, the NL and AL choose one recipient that showcases the best offensive performance throughout the entire season.
Kyle Schwarber’s Outstanding 2022 Season
Kyle Schwarber’s first regular season as a Philadelphia Phillie was a major success, slashing .218/.323/.504 in 155 games played. Schwarber crushed 46 HRs, good for 1st in the National League and 2nd in all of baseball, along with 94 RBIs.
Along with the long ball, Schwarber hit leadoff most of the season, tallying 126 hits, 100 runs scored, 21 doubles, and three triples. Kyle looks to be the 2nd Phillie in a row to win the award, as Bryce Harper secured the trophy in 2021 after his MVP season.
Schwarber has been struggling in the playoffs, hitting just .050/.222/.050 in 20 ABs. The Phillies take on the San Diego Padres tomorrow night at 8:03 in Game 1 of the NLCS.
